Celebrity chef, Mark McEwan and his talented team at The McEwan Group, were cooking up featured gourmet dishes including the ByMark Burger, a Tuna Poke Bowl and a Grilled Prawns Platter. Sweet treats included Strawberry Mini-Doughnuts and rosé wine popsicles – need I say more. Mark’s favourite white wine – Stoneleigh Sauvignon Blanc was also on hand as a featured paired wine – because let’s be real – Mark knows good wine.
Guests were welcomed not only with a complimentary glass and pink blanket, they were also greeted by the many brands including The Wine Shop, Lancôme, Jacob’s Creek Moscato, Flight Centre, Her Majesty’s Pleasure, Flowers Canada and many more!
There was no shortage of Instagram worthy photo ops and interactive experiences.
The Wine Shop’s flower wall and XOXO themed bar, was an insta-success! Best dressed who tagged #thewineshop had the chance to win a winery experience at one of the prestigious Peller Estates or Trius Wineries. Did you have a chance to enter? The Wine Shop was this year’s big supporter and we encourage you to check out all of their amazing wines (they also have whiskey!) at the store nearest you. I know that give lots of business to my local Wine Shop. 😊
Lancôme brought the beauty with their beautiful flower swing and makeup trailer. If the sun was melting your fresh face – Lancôme was called to the rescue to touch up any makeup mishaps.
Jacob’s Creek was the place to sip delicious wine and enjoying a comfy lounger. You could soak up the sun, catch up on gossip while you watched all the gorgeous people walk the festival grounds. Jacob’s Creek Moscato also had a floral and trendy wine cart that sold wine in cans – who can say no to that! If you wanted a taste of Spain during the picnic, you could pop open a bottle of Campo Viejo and be transported instantly to Rioja, Spain.
If you did not have a chance to take a trip to the Flight Centre – Paris bistro, you definitely missed out. While savouring macaroons on a bike, adorned with florals, guests were able to feel as if they were visiting Paris. The best part of it was – they could win trip to Paris as well!
Needed a manicure and did not have enough time before Rose Picnic? No problem. Her Majesty’s Pleasure was providing complimentary manicures in their rainforest escape. We want our guests to feel pampered, premium and all around gorgeous and Her Majesty’s Pleasure is the perfect fit.
A sea of pink blankets could be found in front of the DJ stage. Guests danced until the sun went down to the summer beats of Mark Oliver, Tom Wrecks, Jon Passarelli, Watson and Jug-E. The First Annual Rosé Picnic Fashion Show also hit the festival floor at mid-day and in the evening, that showcased fashion forward trends that are fit for this rose picnic fanfare. The fashion show featured Canadian designers: Zane Barläs, Moscato Pink, Sahiba Fashions, Hendrixroe, and Betty Felon Fashions.
This year, we listened to our guests by offering more… wine and alcohol selection – yippee! Rosé wines included Thirty Bench Small Lot Rose, Rrosé, Hogwash, Campo Viejo, XOXO, and Jacob’s Creek . For those looking for a cool cocktail there was, Hendrick’s Gin, Belvedere Vodka, Tequila Olmeca, Havana Club 7 Rum and Lot 40 Rye.
For those who wanted to up their Premium game, there was the VIP experience. Whether you liked high end wine and spirits or hanging out with Toronto’s finest – both were available to you. Moët & Chandon Nectar Impérial Rosé, Moët Chandon, and Domaine Chandon were indulged with cheese and antipasti platters (prepared by Chef Mark McEwan, of course).
The night ended with rosé wine filled goodbyes to an amazing experience with all who could attend.
